Pressemitteilung MillesimeBIO

The winery Markus Fries participates for the first time in the Millesime BiO (Halle B3 Stand 1121). We work organic since 2014 and we are biodynamically certified since 2020. The vineyards are among the best locations of the Moselle and form the ideal basis for wines with depth, elegance and distinctive character.

The winery Markus Fries is located in Maring-Noviand, a side valley of the Moselle near Bernkastel. We're proud to be the eighth generation continuing our family's winemaking tradition. After studying in Geisenheim and at the prominent Faculté d'Oenologie in Bordeaux, we bring valuable international experience to the table. Our focus is on treating natur, vines and soil with respect. Our vineyards are among the best sites on the Moselle and form the ideal basis for wines with depth, elegance and unique character.

The following wines have won a medal on the occasion of the MillesimeBIo:

Gold medal (the only gold medal for a German wine) for the Riesling GROßES GEWÄCHS Wehlener Sonnenuhr

and a silver medal for a Riesling SPÄTLESE Maringer Honigberg

At the wine-fair, the winery will present for the first time a wine without the addition of sulfites: Riesling Tradition 2024. This wine was

   - stored for 12 months in wooden barrels and on the full yeast
    - without any addition of sulfites
    - Unfiltered bottled
